Electing Joe Biden as President of the United States
All the evidence I've seen demonstrating the dedication, the energy, the passion, the patriotism, the intelligence, the experience, the ideas, the integrity, and the honesty of this man seems endless and it just blows my mind. I didn't start out liking Joe Biden any more than any of the other candidates. What essentially did it for me was the endless barrage of examples of Joe doing, doing, doing...I couldn't ignore it! It just got to the point that to support any other candidate, ANY other candidate, over Joe Biden would be counter intuitive. It would mean I was supporting someone else for the wrong reasons, and my own personal integrity won't allow me to do that.

Joe Biden is a godsend to the Democratic Party and to the United States of America. The day Joe Biden is elected president, not sworn in but elected, the world will see it as America turning the corner on its ugliest stretch of detrimental influence on ourselves and the world and a major step toward coming to our senses. No other candidate would have as immediate and profound an impact on our credibility because it will be clear that we elected the right person for the right reasons. He's not the rock star--an American outcome that would surprise few--or the spouse of a former popular president--again, a typical and predictable outcome of American pop culture--but simply the most qualified person running. Joe Biden is already known and respected, and in a few cases feared no doubt, by leaders, elected and otherwise, all across the world. The world would start to get the idea that America is starting to make sense again. I just hope America IS starting to make sense again. Time will soon tell.

Please consider supporting this candidate.

"Think Like a Terrorist"

Not only does it show Joe is aware of more issues than I can even imagine, but he's DONE something about it. He's ACTED on it.

I couldn't agree with you more - and eloquently stated, as always, Gin. :headbang:

Here's a link to that video (it's really short) - The end is CHILLING.

EDIT: Include the link, gateley -- sheesh.

10. Hi, gateley. It was your post and that video that prompted me to post this.
Thanks...again. In fact, many of the video clips and links I'm referring to in my op I have you to thank for. It's people like you who are making up for the MSM's discrimination of the best of the candidates, Joe Biden. Through efforts like yours Biden's campaign stays alive. Thank you.

5. Just like Biden's interview this morning on CNN - if Him or Dodd are the nominee
They won't need to run a third party candidate.

If any of the top 3 get in, they will. And we will be screwed.

7. I actually had a Repug friend tell me..
"Joe Biden is the smartest and best candidate of all of them." And he wasn't talking about just Dems. And this guy has finally started admitting that attacking Iraq was a mistake. Yet he still spews Repug talking points and rhetoric and intends to vote Repug. Yeah, yeah, I'm working on it. I've been on the attack lately. My favorite line is "To be a Republican these days, you have to believe that as bad as bush and the neocons who control the party are, if you just keep voting Republican things will get better."

they had a Republican talking head who was asked about Joe Biden and he basically said that he's the best out of all the candidates, and, according to my sister, he wasn't just talking about the Democratic candidates.

12. It just makes sense
Biden is not getting the coverage he deserves. The msm doesn't want voters to "know" Joe.
Can we PLEASE have public dollars only in elections? Or is it too far gone? Without a change in the electoral college and the way elections are funded, we'll never see a Biden type in the WH. A man with experience, especially in foreign policy, that we desperately need now, is the only answer....IMHO. He can beat any repuke they can throw out there, unless they manage to "steal" another one. I hope the patriots on the SCOTUS are feelin' real fuckin' good about what they did to us in 2000. What a precedent. We need a Joe Biden, now... more than ever!!!

Great post & so true.
I am so worried about some of the other candidates getting the nomination. It's going to be a long 8 months until the GE, and I think some of them will get beaten up pretty badly.... and we can look forward to another 4 - 8 years of a GOP controlled WH.

First of all, thank you. And I mean that sincerely. My father and grandfather were veterans, Navy/WWII and Marines/WWI respectively. So what I posted just above this was, I suppose, a case of preaching to the choir. You can speak to that point better than I can, but you do serve to underscore its relevance. :patriot:

Yup, spent 4 years protecting our Constitution and am damned pissed off at the "turd with legs" that's in the WH right now. He is the complete antithesis of what I served our country for. Think "Fortunate Son". He's the ultimate example. No where near being quailifed to be where he is other than his connections. No wonder his father cried when talking about Jeb, but thinking about the mistake he and the SCOTUS made "annointing" this scourge upon us. I pray we have the will to recoup from this madness, otherwise this grand experiment known as democracy, will have an impact on civilization like we've never seen before. James Baker, of Baker Botts et al should be real proud of himself. They had NO idea what a monster Cheney was to become. Disgusting. And NO value for human life. Throw it away like a used paper towel. I hope they ALL rot and burn in HELL.

There are many of us who share your frustration. And I'm quite familiar with "Fortunate Son." (Check out John Fogerty's new album. Very good w/several political tunes in the mix.) Like you, I just hope Americans use their heads in this primary process and not allow themselves to be swayed by superficial means.

21. And yet another reason to support Biden...
he's the one Democratic candidate who can get large numbers of the military to vote for him due to his active support of military personnel and their issues, not to mention his approach to Iraq.

Something a lot of non-military people are failing to factor in is that those who have fought in Iraq don't want us to just leave and to have had their friends and fellow soldiers who have died or been injured to have done so for nothing, even though they want to leave. Joe Biden is the only candidate offering a good, effective alternative that our military can enthusiastically embrace. He offers the best chance of leaving Iraq in some semblance of order, but to still leave.

22. Of all the candidates on either
side I think Joe Biden is by far the most qualified for President. It seems when ever one of the talking heads want to talk to an expert on foreign policy they get Joe Biden. I just can't figure why he doesn't catch on, is his hair not good enough or what? The damn MSM started pushing Hillary Clinton years ago and I would bet a years pay if she gets the nomination they will turn on a dime, your going to hear every damn accusation you can imagine come out against the Clintons. The same thing will happen with Obama. I think by far our two best candidates are Biden and Edwards. I am convinced if Hillary or Obama are our candidates we will see another Repug in office come 2009.

Joe is everything you said and more- and I believe he has the best cross-over appeal of anyone in the democratic party. He is a true democrat, but doesn't appear "soft" to alot of right wing tough guys. He has the whole package.

I almost feel like Biden is meant to be the next president- for the benefit not of just the USA, but has the ability to change the world and clean up this mess we are currently drowning in.

I'll be in Puerto Rico and may not have access to a tv. I'll be on edge while surrounded by a bunch of drunk friends, probably feeling very relaxed and making fun of my anxiety. I hope, as an undecided, you'll give some serious consideration to Joe Biden. He doesn't deal with lobbyists. His personal wealth stands at about $150,000. He like to joke saying that he didn't realize people got into politics to make a lot of money. He decided when he first started out that he wouldn't invest in stocks so that there was never a conflict of interest. His wife and baby girl were killed in a car accident with a drunk driver just a month after he was first elected to the Senate. His two sons were also seriously hurt in the crash. He commutes back and forth daily so that he can spend his evenings with his family. He almost lost his own life due to a brain aneurysm. He actually almost died twice. Once from the initial aneurysm and again during a follow up surgery. He doesn't make like his trials were excessive. He says that they're the kinds of things people suffer through all the time, not just him. He's really a remarkable man, and I think he'd make a great president.

40. I like all but one, and will refrain from saying which one
Biden is one I could support fairly easily, though. I fully expect the nominee to be decided by the time our primary is held, so my vote will yet again be rendered meaningless. The joys of living in Texas. :)

I do have some misgivings about Biden, particularly some of his domestic/economic votes in the past, but it's nothing that would keep me from supporting him. I would also like to think that his few domestic shortcomings could be rectified once he escapes the corporate haven of Delaware! But keep up the good work- you (and most Biden supporters) are doing very well by your candidate.
