When Nixon died, nobody expected his enemies to pretend to mourn him. They hated him in life and they weren't sad to see him go. By contrast, everybody who despised Reagan in life is now expected to be sad at his demise. It's nonsense.
I remember Reagan's mean-spirited domestic policies, his global mischief, his contempt for anyone who disagreed with him. I judge him by his policies, not by fortuitous events that occurred while he was in office.
There's a place for generosity in remembrance of the recently departed. Clinton said good things about Nixon when he didn't have to say anything at all. But let's not forget that if Reagan hadn't successfully played dumb about Iran Contra, he would have been impeached. He was not the great American leader that right wingers remember.
