Where can I find results from today's elections?
CNN's webpage has a bogus link that says: "Complete election coverage" but I can't find a link to today's results.

1. You want results to elections that were held today??
Keep your shirt on... :) Give the folks a few hours to count those paper ballots and double-check their totals. Sometime tomorrow morning the totals should be up...

4. My vote was cast on a paper ballot that I personally put through
the optical scanner to have counted.

What are you talking about?

One of the supposed reasons that BBV is being forced on us is that it can get the "results" to us "faster". Your desire to see the results on the same day as the election sort of reflects that assertion.

K?

7. Well, I guess I get it.
Sort of. But hearing the results on election night is not some future technology, it's tradition. And there are no plans in my state to replace our paper ballots.

8. Optical scan ballot counting can go awry--remember Volusia County's

error of -16,000 votes for Gore. Volusia County uses Diebold optical scan machines which utilize computer software to tally and computer modems to send vote counts in to election office, as I understand.

Also, this is from Bev Harris' BlackBoxVoting website re optical-scan machines:

All Diebold counties (AccuVote and AccuTouch are Diebold brands) -- Ask that the poll workers print a report and post a copy at the polling place at the end of the day, whether they are required to or not. All Diebold machines, both touch-screen and optical-scan, contain internal printers and have the ability to print a polling place results report. This takes 60 seconds and costs nothing, and is an important check and balance to compare with the county results from the GEMS system, which we believe to contain security flaws. Votes should not change from the polling place to the county.
