Who else here is running for office?
I've just declared for the 16th House district for the Kansas State House.

11. I've had fantasies of running
for office for several years. The seat is currently held by a Republican (who is actually a very Good Guy) and I'd thought about running a couple of months ago, but didn't want to oppose a good guy. I got a call Monday night from the head of the Kansas Democratic Party and we talked for a while and after talking with his assistant the next day and discussing it with my husband, I decided to bite the bullet and file for the seat.

My original thought was to simply file and not campaign, but give the voters the dubious joy of having a name on the ballot with a D after it, as well as the one with the R. But I've discovered in the last 48 hours that I'm not capable of that. Not sure just how good a campaign I'll run, but I will do my best.

6. Next year I am.
Not a big deal, really, ..... a local office that the republicans have had for far too long. I've had a few meetings already, and have begun the building of a foundation to run for the office. It's important, I believe, for "common folk" like me to run. We need to re-build this country from the grass roots up.

School boards are one of the single most important influences in a community.

12. School boards are just about the most
important elected offices out there. Here in Kansas we went through the nonsense that probably too many of you remember of having the teaching of evolution made non-mandatory for a couple of years, until the worst of the school board got dis-elected.
