for a minute there were only 100,000 of us! That's just a quote from Police Chief Ramsey, who made a wry comment to the AP (They were expecting 100,000)..."I think they probobly hit that."

Earlier, organizers were estimating 270,000 and even CNN briefly estimated 350,000 before the AP quote came out.

there was well in excess of 150,000 for the anti war protest and less than 400 for the pro bush rally.

so much for the freepers on this one i guess.

6. I was at the beginning of the march the whole time

it was steady people from 1:30 till 3:00 all the way across the street.

lots and lots of people. just think of how long it takes for people to stream into a stadium... think if they were streaming for an hour and a half.

14. It took us 4 1/2 hours to get from the Elipse

Wish I could have found the DU meetinglplace earlier; I met a few folks during the march, who saw my DU sticker pinned to my bag.

16. when I say I was at thge beginning I mean

I was at 15th and constitution, so I saw the whole march.

I marched until the march turned left, I was so exausted by then, we just hung around for an hour or so after that.

I made it up to CR for the mini rally on Saturday. In fact, I got there at about the time you were finishing up a conversation with Wendy something or other and another woman whose name escapes me at this time. It was small but we got mostly positive feedback. That is one busy corner. There was one guy who walked across the streetr holding up two signs whenever the light changed. Wendy(?) also told me that you made several of the signs that we were holding. Thank you for that. You probably know by now that there were two wrecks at the corner within about ten minutes of each other. The guys who were stationed on the overpass were asked to come down as they may have been creating a distraction. Of course, paying attention to the traffic around you doesn't hurt either. Anyway, glad you had a good time and made a difference.
