Can you say "Boise State Broncos, National Champions"?
That's what I will say.

But what's more important is that this will finally put an end to this BCS Bullshit.

Eliminate the BCS. Go back to the way it was. Let the AP voters decide. And have the arguments take place just the way they are now anyway.

1. Oh come on!
I understand why you think they should have had a chance. They were a really great team. But are you watching what Florida is doing to #1 Ohio State?! Assuming they don't collapse in the 4th quarter, how can you possibly declare another team to be the champion? Maybe you think Boise State could have beaten Florida, but you don't know, and unfortunately we never will. But please respect the fact that it was Florida who went to the Championship, and it is Florida who will probably win the National Championship.

2. No. The #1 team is getting its ass handed to it by the National Champions.
Boise barely got by Oklahoma (notice OU was NOT ranked #1 in the Fiesta).

4. but maybe OSU's number one ranking was a mistake
OSU's ranking was probably inflated all year because the Big Ten was so weak. Maybe the real first- and second-best teams in the country aren't even in this game. Who knows? With so few common opponents, it's mainly guesswork on the hands of voters who don't even watch many games.

All I can say is that there's one undefeated team left, and it isn't Ohio State or Florida.

5. If you think the Big Ten is weak, what do you call the WAC?
The strength of schedule Florida played FAR surpassed that of BSU. And Florida won a league championship game. Neither OSU nor BSU played in a league championship game. Any comparison between UF and BSU is beyond laughable.

3. Boise State was a good team, but Florida's defense would be too good for them.

I agree that there should be a playoffs, but Boise State's schedule was too easy. If BSU played Florida's schedule, they would have had 2-4 losses.

13. Boise would noy have qualified had they played a big time schedule........
Look, Southern Miss was a good team this year and had they played THE Ohio school last night they might have beat them, too. But they didn't qualify for the one Championship game. And neither did Boise. Beating the likes of...........La Tech and Sacramento State ain't quite the same as beating LSU or Georgia. Congrats on The Bronco's big win over Oklahoma. Now go play an SEC scedule with 8 SEC games and if you do well you get to play a 9th in The SEC Champ Game.

And speaking of Georgia.... last year Boise went to Athens and played UGA. Think they were coming off an unbeaten season, too. The Dawgs sloberknockered the Broncos by 48-13.

Boise had a great season and their win over Oky was wonderful but........ they didn't qualify for the big game.

14. I think UGA was BSU's only loss...
That says alot to me. One SEC game = one LOSS. If they'd played UGA this year they'd have the same record.

6. Anything can happen on any day.
BSU and Florida clearly proved that during this year's BCS.

It's a possibility that BSU could beat Florida.

15. Hells Bells. It's POSSIBLE..... the sun rises in The West tomorrow morning.........
It's.....POSSIBLE... George AWOL Bush does something smart, as well. Lot's of very unlikely things are possible but there is no way possible that Boise goes through an SEC schedule like Florida did to QUALIFY for a title shot.

at Tennessee
Kentucky
Alabama
LSU
at Auburn
Georgia (neutral sight)
at Vanderbilt
South Carolina

And if you get through those games then you play Arky at The SEC Champ game in Atlanta.

And between S. Carolina and The SEC Game you play at FSU. Lose that and you're knocked out of a title shot, too

So tell me, do you think Boise gets through that to QUALIFY for a title shot?

No friggin' way.

The Boise story was great. Oky win showed they could beat anyone in a single game.... but there's no way they QUALIFY for a title shot playing a big time schedule.

7. BCS worked in my opinion...
Florida is the best team in the nation, BCS and AP will agree on that.

8. Boise State is the only undefeated team. They should be No. 1
Unless you want the actual best team as No. 1. That would be Louisville.

10. Pretty clear that the two best teams were USC and Florida.

11. Who did Boise State beat that would make you make that statement?
Their schedule was pretty weak.

Going undefeated doesn't necessarily mean #1. One of the things that I actualy do like about the BCS is that the strength of schedule is considered.

12. I agree 100%!!!!
You go undefeated, and if there isn't a playoff system, then you're number 1, end of story. Everything else is subjective unless there's a playoff system. One could make an argument that OSU was over-rated, since their schedule was largely other Big 10 teams. And if Florida hadn't squeaked by South Carolina (at home, no less) some other 1-loss team would have been in, and also probably have beaten OSU. Congrats to Florida for a great game, but the national title means nothing these days.

Oh, except that you can hang a nice banner in your sports arena now.
