The SEC is the Best Conference In College Football by Far
There's one factor that determines ALL college football games, TEAM SPEED. The faster you are on both sides of the ball, the more likely it is that you will win, and the SEC has more teams with more overall speed than any other conference in America.

The SEC is sick (and I mean sick in a good way) with teams with above average speed. Every conference game is a big game. Every conference game is hard fought and tough. What propelled Florida to the win last night was the conference that they play in.

1. Speaking as a diehard Ohio State fan...
.... and living in an area of the country where I see a LOT of SEC games, I would have to agree with you. A lot of teams in the top 25 wouldn't survive a month with an SEC schedule, and that includes my beloved Buckeyes. I DO think the SEC is the superior conference in college football.

2. Whole lot of good coaches in the SEC, too.

3. Somebody asked the Nebraska coach
why his team could only gain 70 yards against Auburn in the second half. He basically said the Cornhuskers couldn't handle the speed of the Auburn defense. While Auburn totally shut down Florida and beat them 27-17, the Gators ran and passed on Ohio State like it was the scout team they were playing.

I will say that I have been impressed with Wisconsin in their recent bowl games. While their offense hasn't done much against SEC teams, their defense sure looked light years better than Ohio State and Michigan. And, they don't look as slow as those two teams did playing against the SEC and the Pac 10.

4. If Mcfadden had been 100%
Wisconsin wouldn't have won the Capital One Bowl (but he wasn't a 100% and so be it.) The Badgers jump offsides, Arkansas blocks a punt, the play is replayed and the Badgers get 60 yards because they were "penalized." The touted Wisconsin running game was held to minus 5 yards by an SEC team that lost to the three best teams in the country, Florida, LSU and USC.

5. I would like to see a Big Ten - SEC challenge
Similar to the Big Ten - ACC challenge in basketball. BUT...it must switch off every year and be played in late November.

I'm not dissing the SEC; I just wonder how their teams would perform in 30 degree November weather with 30 mph winds and a wind chill of about 10. Every time the Big Ten and SEC play each other it's warm weather, either pre-season or a bowl game. Warm weather advantage always goes to the southern schools.
