If you REALLY want to be brought to tears...
...you should be watching the March:

All the speakers have been amazing. Right now: Billie Myers, after a rousing speech, singing "America the Beautiful." Wow. Just wow.

1. I've been glued to my monitor for over two hours.
Twitter feed #NEM has excellent pictures, too. Lots of live reactions.

2. I loved the guy who co-organized it.
Wonderful slap in the mush to the HRC!

3. Best moment yet as far as I'm concerned, was Lady GaGa
yelling to Obama ARE YOU LISTENING?? I actually applauded all by myself in my little tv room.

5. What a difference between this march and the one a few weeks ago.

People here have truly been abused and denied their civil rights and at times treated less than human, but I don't see ugly faces twisted with hate. I see people who can get up and sing and be joyful all the while knowing they can't marry or even be open about who they are. Maybe it's just my bias, but the energy here is amazing and so unlike the dark cloud that hovered over the teabag march.

6. You know, even the post-Prop H8 protests were like that.
My wife and I marched and demonstrated (our signs always made the TV news! LOL) and went to post-H8 community meetings, and every event was highly charged with very positive energy. Anger, oh yes, but that anger was channeled into determination, and solidarity. Hard to describe the feeling, but it was practically palpable.

I can't recall any other time I saw -- or felt -- the walls between gay and transgender crumble like that. Beautiful, really.

Shame it takes a crisis to engender that.
