Christian school expels girl for having gay parents

A 14-year-old student was expelled from a Christian school because her parents are lesbians, the school's superintendent said in a letter.

Shay Clark was expelled from Ontario Christian School on Thursday.

"Your family does not meet the policies of admission," Superintendent Leonard Stob wrote to Tina Clark, the girl's biological mother.

Stob wrote that school policy requires that at least one parent may not engage in practices "immoral or inconsistent with a positive Christian life style, such as cohabitating without marriage or in a homosexual relationship," The Los Angeles Times reported in Friday's edition.

But why make the child suffer (losing friends, transferring to a new school)? It's not her fault that she comes from a loving household in which both parents happen to be of the same gender. That does not matter. Love matters. Doesn't it say in the Bible "Love thy neighbor" and about treating others with the same respect you'd want to be treated as?

Christianity is becoming a big turn-off for me lately.

10. She researched the school

Before she sent her daughter there. She also has another child, 19, who spent years there. It wasnt until the daughter spoke up about homosexuality- then they kicked her out. They took her out of cheerleading practice in the middle of it.

There was nothing in the rulebooks about it, and the only place that it was written down was in the trustee's handbook- which they refused to let her see.

The mothers are planning on suing the school as soon as they can get a lawyer.
