Have your prayers been answered?
This is such a great forum. It always makes me feel better to come here and read. I wasn't posting for a while because I had to donate again to DU, but I couldn't resist it. I had to donate because I had to post. Happy New Year.

So here's a question for the group if anyone wants to share. Is there a really important time when you specifically felt like your prayers had been answered? When you really believed that someone, something, some energy out there heard you and responded?

Probably 15 years ago now, my extremely toxic-personality stepdaughter was living with us. I remember sitting in the car in the driveway at our old house, looking off at a modest view that we had then, crying, and begging the universe to get her out of my house.

Shortly after that someone we knew actually offered to take her in. Take her off our hands. It was an incredible gift. I felt like my prayers had been answered. (Thankfully I have never had to live in the same house with her since. She is only slightly less obviously toxic today.)

So, do you have a story to share? Just thought I'd give people a chance to speak out.

O8)

I was very depressed yesterday to the point of crying ( I do not cry easy) as I was so sad for my youngest son.
He had lost his job, been hit with an outragious medical bill and for back child support on a child he didnt even know he had on top of suffering from a kidney stone..(it passed though).
I posted on du and last night and today an outpouring of love came forth and tonight...
my son got a phone call from an old friend he had helped out years ago and now he has work :)
prayers answered :)

3. Oh wyn, I'm so pleased
I read about your sadness about your son's situation and I was hoping it would soon resolve, This is a good step and I hope it offers you and him some relief.

4. I'm so sorry I missed this...

I've been negligent in reading here, so I didn't know of your suffering. So glad a pray was answered.

Thanks for Callie for the OP, too. :)

7. I'm sorry to have missed the post, Winy.
But I can tell you that you have been positively and highly in my thoughts practically the whole week because of your other postings. The good advice and vibes from you helped me navigate through some difficult situations this week. And I'm ending up thanking you again.

6. all the time, mostly in small ways to meet my needs
I don't always get what I want, but when I'm pushed against a wall I seem always to get what I need. Most recently, after I brought in one load of hay, the guy that did my deliveries suddenly was "too busy" and then stopped returning my calls. I was running out of hay and went to the local convenience store that also rents u-hauls with plans to rent a box truck for a weekend and bring in my hay by myself. Instead of renting a truck, they told me to see their friend Don who had just started working for them part-time and happened to be in the back room right then. It turned out he was the guy that had helped me save Algiers' life 6 years ago when I first moved up here. It also turned out he knows the hay supplier and is one of the few people allowed to pick up hay even when they're not home.

8. Have your prayers been answered? Oh yes, all of the time.
Most especially where I have truly asked from my heart, for the benefit of others, where I have truly felt it deeply. Where my compassion actually increased as a result of my wish for the betterment of others.

I'm in a life position where I am pretty much unable to be of benefit to others through my time and energy, so I pray a lot (and use my insomnia as prayer time). Go down the first and second pages of the forum to see my post regarding the prayers I tend to generally use (-We are co-creating the idea of charity in mankind").

I can always feel my vibration lifting when I've prayed correctly, much in the same way one gets a rush from acts of charity and compassion.

Regarding prayer for myself...I was taught to not pray for myself directly, unless it's for me to be able to be of further service and growth toward such. However, I have been released from terribly destructive situations =when I have finally become honest about my part in having created them=. I feel that God approaches us, as we approach God. A true plea for help based upon the realization of an inability to help one's self, can be met with more than you'd hoped. Humility and gratitude are powerful assists to prayer.

Now that we are in co-creator energy, it is possible for us to Bless the Creator, in thanks for the continuous blessings we already receive!

9. All but one.
Still looking for "Mr. Right"... :)

But every other prayer, every one that really mattered, has indeed been answered. I am so blessed and thankful for the generosity of the Universal Power (I just call it God).
