witchcraft through horoscopes?
This is pretty alarming. It seems there are certain politicians who would like for all of us "Satan worshipers" to be reprogrammed. This is over in the Minnesota Forum, check out the article at the bottom of the OP. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=160x34452

"A recent poll taken by the (MN)Star Tribune showed that about 25% of people in our community are 'mystical believers.' These are people who are more likely to believe and participate in witchcraft through horoscopes, Tarot cards, Ouija boards, and other demonic activities."

Welcome to the new middle ages.

1. For some time now I have read a blog by an fundamentalist walk-away
this person posts anonymously because her church is known for involuntary exorcisms cuz anyone wanting to leave *must* be possessed by the devil don't cha know and needs to be prayed over for days while being held down and doused with wesson oil.

2. Wingnuts can be found anyplace you look.
They no more represent mainstream Christian views than the KKK does. Plus, you gotta figure that on any given day there is a certain percentage of people out there that think they saw Elvis shopping at the QuickieMart last Saturday.

I live in an area where there is an extremely fundy church that preaches not only The Rapture, but also that you can regrow a missing limb "if only your faith is strong enough." In this same area there are several OTHER churches that are less extreme, and a few that are actually pretty progressive. I can't paint them all with the same brush.

Peace to ALL is my personal view.

4. Minnesota--Land of Michelle Bachmann
That says it all for me. If that lunatic fundie can be re-elected after saying the crazy %^&* she said on national TV, & her opponent being showered with huge amounts of $, then that tells me that MN is full of completely brain-washed sheeple. Or the voting machines are rigged. Take your pick.

5. Yeah, I used to live there
I think it's a little of both. :-)

My purpose of posting that was to point out that a supposedly decent senator was calling for public funding for this group that considers astrology a form of satanism. And a whole lot of other whacked out ideas. Taxpayer dollars should NOT be going to this group.

Please keep an eye on your own reps to make sure they don't get behind this idea.

Peace to all.

6. Thanks for the heads-up, enuf
Here in TN those "satanic" things are pretty much relegated to the parlor games bin, or the stuff of kooks.
I find it ironic (or hypocritical) that the very ones who drag out the pitchforks against such things are the same ones who read their horoscopes in the newspaper every day. :eyes:

7. They also do this to disempower folks who know better.
Isn't that part of the facade? Anyone who believes in astrology is a witch, while they are using every advantage they can come by, through astrology, tarot, and everything else?

They try to embarrass and shame anyone who's having a glimmer about the truth back onto the "straight and narrow" road of the powerless.
