Czechs Train for Afghan War in IsraelDecember 18, 2008

PRAGUE -- A total of 55 Czech soldiers from the helicopter base in Prerov, north Moravia, today ended two weeks of training in Israel, where they prepared for next year's mission in Afghanistan, the Czech military staff has told CTK.
The Czech pilots learnt to fly in difficult conditions of a dusty desert in Israel.
Petr Schvarz, who will command the helicopter unit in Israel, said he considers the exercise in Israel a great opportunity to prepare his troops for the conditions in Afghanistan.
They covered 91 hours in the air during 900 training flights.
They were flying during the daylight as well as in the night and they also tried to take off and land on an unknown territory.
