Jimmy Edwards of Arkoma remembers taking a lot of antacids when he returned from Vietnam.
For years, they were a part of his steady diet. He thought he had a stomach problem.
“They checked my stomach and said nothing was wrong,” Edwards said.
This past year, Edwards, 60, who served in the Army from 1966 to 1968 after being drafted from Poteau, began seeing a doctor who discovered he had anxiety and depression and it was related to his service during the war.
“I finally found somebody who would listen and figured out that I did actually have problems,” Edwards said.
