1. I love the swamp. That first one makes me want to explore.

The last ones make me want to stay in the oyster bar.

We have a few cypress around here. They'd be more widespread, but the cows just love the saplings.

2. The big cypress is a lone survivor.

The rest were logged out in the area. That one probably survived because it was "topped", which lessened it's value. Then it would have been used as an anchor tree to harvest the other logs. It's probably 500-750 years old.

3. Around here the grandfather trees are Burr Oak.

4. These are amazing and perfect for Halloween. Spooky and scarier than

anything we could produce artificially.
Especially that huge looking alligator, though I realize it could be a "normal" sized one. Of the Spanish moss images I especially like picture number four; it looks so improbable.
My favorite of them is the first one. It sucks you in and wants to keep you there.
