Would be I correct in assuming hand-held with the VR turned on?

How does this lens compare in size and weight to something like the 70-200mm?

those are amazing photos ! I have never seen a roadrunner up close like that. I had no idea they were so colorful !
They should definitely be submitted to the magazine, would make a fantastic front cover !
