Did anybody see Phil Gingrey (r) on Colbert's "Better know a district"
last night? I cannot believe and rwingrs don't get the satire on his show, Gingrey made an ass out of himself (nothing new there) Colbert: "Iraq, great war, or the greatest?" Gingrey "the greatest" Colbert "Should gay people be allowed to have drivers licenses, i don't want them gaying up my highways" Gingrey "Yes of course they should but i never though of that"

If you can catch the replay it's pretty funny.

1. that was rich... I love when Colbert said he agreed completely
that gays should not marry and then went on to say, "Don't you agree that gays shouldn't be allowed to have driver's licenses as well?" Eventually he got the guy to say that it was a good idea and Colbert acted really moved, "Thank you, most people don't say that."

3. How many people do you know who would sit through that?
I think my dog might, but he's a Golden Retriever and will put up with anything.

5. I almost lost choked on that one
:spray: I should know better than try to drink my Dr. Pepper while I watch Colbert. I need to wait for commercials. The whole interview had us in stitches.

Colbert is a genius.

15. Well, Bill Frist isn't exactly leading the pack of smartest doctors in DC.

:( There's that horrible congressman or senator from the midwest who wants to maintian his fundy OB-GYN practice and be a congressman (which is illegal.) You can't have it both ways.

My dad was a Republican surgeon. He almost ran for governor but he deicded that he could not give up his medical practice. It was more imnportant to him to be an excellent surgeon than a politiican. I loved my dad even though he and I were political opposites! :)

8. What really is scary is that the R believed all of that crap about the
War and gays, it really was scary if you ask me, also when he said that if the president says so then it is OK

I mean this guy was a walking talking point, but the Vandyke was worth it. :)

on a re-run of "whose line is it anyway" the other day..who knew?
he was hilarious, of course.
quality improv is a rare and special skill.. and to maintain in-character, satirical, intelligent, and funny improv while interviewing a wingnut... genius.
