The question that is on everyone's mind...
Will the Democrats step up to the task? The people voted and said they wanted a change in Iraq. The change they were looking for was not more troops committed to an unnecessary and fatally flawed invasion and occupation. The people did not vote to give Bush another $100 billion dollars to continue the war.

The Democrats have been a Party that is "too cautious" in questioning the "Commander in Chief" - no matter how insane his strategy. That must change. The Democrats must grow a spine and challenge everything, absolutely everything, this President attempts to do. He is a leader that has corrupted and destroyed our military and brought disgrace to our nation around the world. He cannot be trusted - not even when he says he wants to work in a "bi-partisan' way with the Democrats. His definition of "bi-partisanship" is different from the interests of the American people.

The Democrats need to challenge his lies about the "war on terrorism". The war in Iraq was not and is not about the war on terrorism. If there are now terrorists in Iraq, it is up to the "new" Iraqi government to dismantle and destroy their base. It is time to withdraw our troops.

That is the decision the Democrats have to make. There are no easy decisions - only right and wrong decisions - in this matter. The Democrats must decide if they want to represent the people that voted for them in the last election or if they want to play it "safe" and give George W Bush everything he needs to fight his "war on terror". History will judge whether they make the right or wrong decision. The voters will judge if they agree or disagree in the next election.

2. Has there been any indication that they will seriously move...
...to withdraw our troops? If so, I guess I missed it.

4. They only have the authority to fund the war...
Not to physically withdraw the troops. That is left up to the Executive Branch. However, the Congress speaks for the people and legislates the laws and the President has a duty to execute them, whether he likes them or not.

7. They waited 3 years with the Dems in charge of Congress
to hang Saddam. I guess that will be a talking point in the future. "Ya but the Dems hung Saddam!" "I thought they wanted to cut and run." "The Dems botched Saddams execution."

The stupidity of the RW is astounding, Dem will have a very uphill battle.
