To Mchigan Fans: The Rose Bowl is the grand daddy of prizes

Don't let the Buckeye/Gator championship overshadow the Rose Bowl.

This is the game that the Big Ten and Pac Ten built and teams used to turn down chances of playing for the championship just to play in Pasadena.

(I had the honor of attending the Rose Bowl in 1986 - yes to watch Iowa lose to UCLA *sigh*. Colorado Blvd. on New Year's Eve is indescribable and the Parade of Roses unbelievable. I can see why teams would choose to attend the game, win or lose it's spectacular1)

7. I too grew up in Iowa, we always cheered for the Big Ten

team playing in the Rose Bowl, regardless who they were playing.

5. I'm mostly a 'fan' of having a good game - something rarely seen in the Rose Bowl, sadly.

Over the years, the games haven't been examples of the teams' abilities - often mistake-ridden and sometimes zebrakicked, they've been disappointing for those of us who are more interested in seeing good play than in who 'wins.'

That said ... Go Blue! (My heart's 'home' is northern California, not Lalaland.) :evilgrin:

6. Nothing's as good as having 2 teams jump you, and you have no opportunity for rejoinder.

8. A one loss Big Ten team is usually going to be ranked lower than

a one loss SEC champion. The only reason it was a "jump" was Mich wasn't a one loss team until they did lose.
