Nothing they've done has ever given me the impression that they are capable enough to even begin the kind of mass deception you're describing. I truly do not understand this obsession some people have with thinking that these guys are some sort of Illuminati secretly controlling things from behind the scenes.

10. According to Thom Hartmann, they will try to do the Marshall Plan

in Iraq. Spend lots more money, give all the Iraqi's jobs, that'll keep them all off the streets, so no one will be fighting each other... (a bad synopsis of Hartmann's theory I know), then: no more insurgents, blah blah blah, because the unemployment rate will go way down. I think that's possible, but I think it's too late, and Bush's gang isn't smart enough. Then what about the Iran factor, and so many other things in that region? "They" are evil tricksters to be sure. I guess we won't know until the next fiasco happens. Groan. It will be a failure, whatever it is. And we'll pay for it with our tax dollars and our childrens' lives.
