I'm attending a Zogby Focus Group Wednesday - Anyone else ever participated?

I'm certain many people here on DU have. Any suggestions or comments as to what I should expect? It's my first time. :blush:

I live in Fort Lauderdale, the meeting is in Miami.

Greetings from Zogby International,

Many thanks for agreeing to participate in our upcoming focus group! This
email is to formally invite and confirm your participation.

We look forward to meeting you on Wednesday, January 10. As you know, you
will participate in a friendly discussion where you will be asked to voice your
opinion on the general direction of the US and related issues. We will also
ask you to use a hand held dial to register your response to questions. A
professional Zogby International moderator will lead the discussion. At the
end of the session, we will give you $100 in appreciation for your
participation!

only.

The session will last approximately one and a half to two hours.

2. I've never done a Zogby focus but I have done others.

Usually, they feed you lunch and pay you to get your opinion on various ideas or products. I'm surprised they told you who was behind it. Usually, they don't. The company they are doing the focus group for usually like to remain incognito, so I guess not to influence you if you don't like their product.

4. Zogby does Opinion Polls, so someone is paying Zogby

to conduct this focus group.

I participate in the Zogby Online Polls, and the only responses they required when they asked if I wanted to participate were:

I'm a registered voter
I'm very likely to vote in the next election
I voted for John Kerry in 2004
I'm a registered member of the Democratic Party

I refused to tell them my gender or income. I did let them know I was was white.

So, I don't know that it's product related. I'm very curious, though.

3. I've never been in a focus group.

But it should be fun. A good sum for a couple of hours of telling people what you think about the general direction of the US.

I'm taking a tape recorder. If they can record me, why can't I record them? :hi: Interesting that you're in Ohio and I'm in Florida and that it's Zogby International. We're both in swing states. Hmmm.
