KO is totally going to get in trouble.
He just played the video "My Box in a Box" (youtube). It is a female version of the SNL skit by Justin Timberlake.

6. I said the same thing to my DH; Keith's going to hear all about that!
And ya know, I applaud it/him, too! We were ROTFL, and I had never heard of it before.

9. Same here. I was at the show when it first aired, and I couldn't
even hear it in the studio because people were laughing so much.

8. I thought the Timberlake skit was the best thing SNL has done since Will Ferrell was there.

11. I'm old, but I thought they were both HYSTERICAL....
The Timberlake one has that "eighties" look and feel to it, and the self-satisfied players who think that gift is preferable to fancy cars, diamond rings and so forth just are funny as hell. The ladies with their "sincere" faces and perfect makeup are a laugh riot--not once do they break character, even with roses and feathers smushed against their noses!

The Box in a Box one is a scream, because it employs that 'call and response' device which was so POPULAR in the fifties and sixties, where a 'boy singer' would sing a tune, and a 'girl singer' would sing a song responding to the first tune. What I like about both songs is the musicality, too--both songs are 'listen-able.'

If I can enjoy a tune while laughing like hell, that's a good thing!

13. Answer Song
Edited on Mon Jan-08-07 09:55 PM by shugh514
Call and Response is a pattern within one song such as, question and answer choruses found in children's songs, work songs, and gospel music.

"Box in a Box" is more like an Answer Song

14. Paul and Paula
hey hey paula I've been waiting for you
hey hey paul I want to marry you to
True love means planning our life for two,
being together the whole day through.
True love means waiting and hoping that soon
wishes we made, will come true,
my love, my love.

10. Could very well be...Keith is known for his provocativeness...I tended to
doubt he'd be in managerial trouble only because of how he hasn't been kicked off the air with his commentaries. I LOVE them but...remember who's in charge here...I can't believe it hasn't happened yet!

12. Naaah, so long as his ratings are crushing Faux, he's golden.

Dan Abrahms and Dick Ebersol and the other management there aren't going to kill the goose that lays a golden egg every evening from eight until nine. ....and, on edit, he's on CABLE, and no naughty words were used...you can be suggestive on cable. Gotta wait till after midnight to use the F word, though, but you can play South Park and other slightly racy shows anytime of the day...even on BASIC cable.

It's network TV that causes trouble, and it's why Janet's old boob was so problematic, even though it had a big bottle cap on it.
