Cokie Roberts – Democrats On Wrong Side Of History With Globalization
This exchange followed an interview with Sen. Sherrod Brown on todays ‘Morning Edition’:

NPR Mouthpiece: "Is the notion of cracking down on free trade a winning issue for Democrats? "

The Cokester: "It is in some states and some districts, but it is a long term loser, and puts them essentially on the wrong side of history with globalization. And even though labor unions often lose in trade agreements, consumers gain and so the Democrats have to be very careful here, and there is a lot of division among Democrats on this issue."

Gee, Cokester, how are us commoners gonna buy all that cheap shit at Wal-Mart with no jobs. We all can’t work as gardeners and servants for you and the Tom Friedman’s.

Here be audio of her wisdom (at the end of the segment):

Sherrod Brown is the first Democrat elected to the U.S. Senate from Ohio since 1992. Steve Inskeep talks to the new senator as part of our series on what it means to be a Democrat. Brown says voters responded to Democratic promises to help a struggling middle class.

2. And I don't even think consumers gain.
I mean, how do I gain if I have to keep going back to Wally World to purchase the same pair of shoes or a shirt six times a year because the others wear out in no time at all?

Snort. Stupid media whore.

4. How much money does she make again?
She's not qualified to say a damn thing. Only those who live comfortably have no clue.

7. Did she EVER have a brain?
I never got over her attempt to make Clinton a rapist by saying: "Is a 21-year-old capable of an informed opinion about sex?"

Nasty piece of goods coasting on her family's name.

8. Cokie is a moron..
... as is anyone who thinks it is a good idea for America to have completely open markets to countries that protect theirs.

Fair trade? Cool. Free trade? We're taking it in the backside.

on NPR was when I heard her say that the Democrats didn't expect to win the Senate, they were going to try and blame everything on the Republicans and now they'll have to be accountable.

She was talking about budget and ethics.

What a nasty piece of work she is.

I can't believe Renee Montaigne didn't call her on it.

12. ". . . there is a lot of division among Democrats on this issue."
Bullshit: She has no grounds for saying that, no research, no survey or interview responses, maybe a couple of anecdotes, but no real evidence, nothing. Cokie just gets to say whatever she wants to say and no one says "Prove it."

People listen to that shit and repeat it, until everyone believes it is true.

What the hell are her little diatribes, exactly? They sure aren't news. And they don't label them "opinion." I have never heard her cite a source, but I quit listening to her a long time ago back when bush was riding high in the polls for his manly man approach to ter-izm. This airhead needs her ass kicked to the curb. Her ill-informed opinions have no place in the national discourse.

13. Well, if that's that case...
... this is one time that I don't mind being on the wrong side.

If I have to choose between helping people gain a living wage and helping people buy cheap shit that they don't need, I will pick the living wage every time.
