CNN 100 Hour Clock. It Appears to Me They Are Mocking The Democrats In Congress..
They held the previous congress to NO fucking standard whatsoever and now they have a countdown clock on their website to inform us of what the Democratic Congress provides in their first 100 hours. Shame on the 'librul' media. Shame on CNN. Why NOT? a clock ticking the HOURS in Iraq? Or the Death Toll? Or the Lies from the Bush Administration? Or the National Debt? and on and on ad nauseum.

3. Doesn't bother me...
The Dems came up with the 100-hour goal. Its newsworthy how well they're able to accomplish it.

5. You know they will scrutinize everything the Democrats do with a fine tooth comb
The Democratic led congress will do nothing right in the next two years if you listen to the "liberal" media talking heads and the games they will play.
They will make it look like dooms day with every decision made by the congress in an effort to defeat them in 08.

6. Pelosi brought it on herself by announcing the 100-hour thing
You don't announce something like that and then expect no one will keep track.

"Mission accomplished" is still remembered.

16. Yes, but that's the way the corporate media "work"
Pelosi should be more than familiar with their ways...so should you! :) Let them have their fun. I just found out the football night off thing was a legitimate time for a delay due to inducting the freshmen (congressional), but it wasn't the CM who cleared that up -- it was DU.

The malicious corporate whores love to mislead us, the clock thing is just another of their stupid ways of feeling like they're superior.

11. The difference is, Pelosi's 100 hours is an agenda, not a program.
All it does is lay out what we WANT to do in the first 100 hours - basically, it was a PR bit to counter the repuke "Dems have no ideas". The repukes have the strength still to thwart every single one of those ideas, so it is foolish to say "We will accomplish..." when the truth is "We want to accomplish..." The repukes will spin it as our failure if even one idea does not pass, and they will use it in the campaign -- in return we will spin any failure to pass as due to repuke intransigence and use it in our campaign.

Don't buy the repuke spin on it.

19. That isn't what Pelosi said
It was expressed as things they would do in the first 100 hours.
snip....

If you honor Democratic candidates with your vote today, in the first hundred hours of a Democratic Congress: We will restore civility, integrity, and fiscal responsibility to the House of Representatives. We will start by cleaning up Congress, breaking the link between lobbyists and legislation and commit to pay-as-you-go, no new deficit spending.

We will make our nation safer and we will begin by implementing the recommendations of the independent, bipartisan 9/11 Commission.

We will make our economy fairer, and we will begin by raising the minimum wage. We will not pass a pay raise for Congress until there is an increase in the minimum wage.

We will make health care more affordable for all Americans, and we will begin by fixing the Medicare prescription drug program, putting seniors first by negotiating lower drug prices. We will also promote stem cell research to offer real hope to the millions of American families who suffer from devastating diseases.

We will broaden college opportunity, and we will begin by cutting interest rates for student loans in half.

We will energize America by achieving energy independence, and we will begin by rolling back the multi-billion dollar subsidies for Big Oil.

We will guarantee a dignified retirement, and we will begin by fighting any attempt to privatize Social Security.

I say this as a grandmother (of almost six) and as the Democratic Leader of the U.S. House of Representatives.

8. It's the start of the 08 race.
Highlight the first big Dem failure, when we fail to get through all of what we wanted in the first 100 hours.

(Never mind that the Repuke "Contract On America" failed to accomplish ANY of its goals in all the years they were in power - other than remove the Dems from power, that is.)

20. I do expect great results, but the sad fact is the repukes have to
block only a couple items, which they are perfectly capable of doing, to crow about the incompetence of the dems. So we will hear about the failure of the 100 contract (rather than, agenda) - but on the other hand, we will also use anything they block against them in 08 as well.

18. All day yesterday and again this morning
CNN has been making the generalization (based on one day) that Pelosi's 5-day work week is basically baloney.

CNN has already become unwatchable and it will only get worse as 2008 approaches.

23. Would you rather they were ignored? Something faux is probably doing until a screw-up.
I don't see it as holding them to a standard. I see it as Pelosi holding dems to a standard, and by letting all know what will be done, and proving it to the country. When it is done where will Faux be? And tell me where will CNN be? Stop complaining this could be good for the dems. And something Pelosi brought on. Sure we should have clocks for everything else. How about one for Iraq's exit plan? That's right there is no exit plan, just a "plan".

They were condenscending. I'm sure Hoyer is expressing hope and excitement by posting his clock.
