Woman Faces Felony Child Abuse Charges

ORLANDO, Fla. -- An Orlando woman was arrested on felony child abuse charges Monday after her ex-boyfriend claimed that she put her baby in an oven, according to Orlando police.

Sharlyn Singh, 29, was arrested and charged with first-degree aggravated child abuse after police investigated the claims made by her ex-boyfriend.

The man, who was not identified, told police that he was in the process of moving out of Singh's house on Kirkman Road because they were breaking up when he heard Singh's 1-year-old baby girl crying.

The man said that he asked Singh where the baby was, and Singh didn't answer him and walked out of the apartment, according to police.

The man said he followed the baby's cry and realized they were coming from inside the oven, according to police. He told police the oven was turned on but not hot enough to burn the baby.

He said he turned the oven off and removed the baby, according to Orlando police.

No burns? What proof is there, other than the man's word, that this actually happened? There has to be something, I hope, for the authorities to have arrested the mom. But, from the information provided in the article, I'm not sure that this is the whole story or even the truth.

However, the above notwithstanding, anyone who would put a baby in an oven is lower than Bush.

6. this happened in Maine several years ago, but the

child was not so fortunate.
Neighbors in the apartment complex had called the fire Dept. complaining of someone with a burning turkey in their oven.... it was a little girl and she was dead- The fire Dept personnel needed quite abit of CISD afterwards. Another child was discovered in the apartment neglected by alive.

I'm thankful the boyfriend in this current tragedy was there. What a sad, disturbed world this can be.-
