What happens after escalation takes place, and we end up with an even bigger disaster than we have now? What's the scenario?

.....With permanent military bases, a gigantic embassy, and large amounts of oil.
Just need to send more troops into the middle of a civil war.
Makes sense to me.

2. Bush has no scenario. He has seen to it that the rest of us have |
|
no say. I guess we take to the streets.

3. Bush will be one step closer to |
|
annihilating the American Armed Services. One step closer to his ultimate goal of turning America into a third world country. Sorry if this sounds tinfoil but if you look at what he has done over the last six years the story is told. Peace on earth, Kim

4. There's too much oil money at stake in Iraq |
|
to be forced to pull out by a bunch of insurgents. The Repubs are gambling that if they can just stay in another two years that big business will not allow the Democrats to get elected and ruin everything by pulling the troops out. We clearly plan to stay in Iraq indefinitely to judge by the many military bases being built and the gigantic American embassy going up there.
