Have you also checked the laundry room?

It's possible that an errant sock, having successfully escaped from the dryer, absconded with the keys in order to make a fast getaway in your car.

It happens all the time - it's just not widely reported.

I wind up finding them at the bottom of my purse. Try that. :)
