So, I'm on Facebook tonight, and I answer a poll, "Should Sarah Palin run for President in 2012?"

Since "Heaaaayyyllllll NO!" wasn't an option, I clicked "No" and added a comment, "Yes, I think Sarah
Palin should be President--President of the National Nimrod Association."

A minute later, I get an unsolicited, private Facebook message from Melody L Judy Stobbe. I don't
know this person. I've never heard of her. The message says:

"Why is it that women are so jealous of other women who are successful with marriage, family and career...oh, lets not forget, intelligent, straight forward and not polically correct, and pretty...is a reflection of what they don't see or want within themselves...

Oh REALLLLLY, Ms Melody L. Judy Stobbe?

So, I replied:

"I don't agree with your initial supposition. I don't believe that, as you said--Women are so jealous of other women who are successful with marriage, family and career...etc.' You just described myself and the fabulous women in my life--including family and friends. I had a luncheon today in my home--and was surrounded by accomplished, gorgeous women--doctors, authors, teachers and artists. So, who are you and what are you talking about?
And why on Earth are you wearing a Christmas tree skirt?"

More to the point... while Palin may indeed be considered successful with her marriage, family and career, and can be considered intelligent and straightforward, there is no guarantee that those qualities make up for misguided ambition, drama-queenness, bad choices, and snarkiness that were on full display during the campaign and beyond. These behaviors were there for all to see, so you are able to make an informed opinion about Palin. Ms. Melody, on the other hand, has never seen YOU at all, so she can't possibly guess at your motivations, beliefs, shortcomings, or anything.

The last bit about Palin not being politically correct -- well, sometimes that can be a virtue. But being politically correct just for the sake of doing it is insincere and disingenuous.

Anyhow, stay away from the ad hominem attacks in your responses - picking on her shirt, for example, has absolutely nothing to do with anything. Keep the focus on Palin, who proved that being a straight shooter doesn't mean you're firing in the right direction or at the right targets.

... between intelligence and common sense, good judgment, etc. Obviously, she makes many blunders, exhibits an utter lack of class, proposes dangerous and wrongheaded policies, and says stupid things -- so did Bush -- but that doesn't mean she's a moron. What does "is a reflection of what they don't see or want within themselves" mean? Are women supposed to be jealous of what they don't have or not jealous because they don't want it? What does this mean because none of this post makes any sense or has a logical inference line that gets from one point to another with that phrase in it. Also, where is the line that speaks about jealousy? Are all women presumed to be jealous of others simply because they don't want them as a candidate or disagree with what they say? It is possible to not be jealous of someone and disagree with them or be jealous and still have rational disagreement so where is the proof of this.

Of course, none of this may be heard. I suggest you stick with the following:
