Republicans trying to use UAE deal to save their hides in Nov.

Bay Buchannan all but admitted that it was an issue the Rethugs would use to trump the Dems. If the voters can't see through this ruse all things are hopeless. Who doesn't know that the Republicans will find a way after Nov to give Bush exactly what the corporate pigs want. There is one problem that might hurt the Republicans. They are so vocal against the UAE deal that their foreign campaign money that is laundered through lobbyists might dry up. Here's hoping.

A weaker America essentially makes both Bush and his Corporate Affiliates stronger, and that's why the Dubai deal makes so much sense.

Like The Hunt for WMD's, the Hammer Gets Nailed, Loose Lips Libby and Uncle Dickie goes Hunting, the Dubai deal is just another scandal that perpetuates the illusion of legitimate media. Better yet, Dubai serves as a mechanism to allow strong, independent Republicans to stand up for freedom even if it means disagreeing with our pResident. When the deal goes through anyway, at least they tried, right? This then feathers the bed for (ehem) "better Republican numbers" and more stolen mid-term elections. The House stays with the Pukes, investigations die on the vine and Bill O'Liely is your daddy for the foreseeable future.

I think they are just trying to convince themselves. They had Bay come out and declare it and they will watch how it sells on the internet boards and they are probably testing on it.

I think they are just trying to declare victory because they have nothing else.

Of course the deal IS going to go through it always was -UAE has the WTO trump card - the Republicans now just have to pass it while looking like they did something about it when they really didn't. The sheeple probably won't notice but I think this ship has already sailed. When you live by the K.I.S.S. sounndbite someimes it does just that, it bites back.

To be controlled by the Democratic Party, so that it isn't a "Rubber Stamp" Congress or to put a check on BushCo.

If the deal still goes through, Congress failed to put a check on the BushCo, because only the Republicans control the Senate and House of Reps.
