A federal judge in Wisconsin ruled Wednesday that Frontier Airlines must use union workers for mechanic and stock-clerk positions.
The decision in a case coming from the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin was based on a collective bargaining contract with Frontier, its parent company Republic Airways Holdings Inc. and International Brotherhood of Teamsters mechanics and stock clerk workers.
The case arose from Frontier’s acquisition by Republic in 2009, after which Republic said it would outsource those jobs.
“This is a tremendous victory that saved 325 good-paying jobs in the U.S.,” Teamsters General President Jim Hoffa said in a written statement.
