In light of all the recent discussion about Rick Warren, Obama's inauguration and LGBT's civil rights, I thought it would be appropriate to post this bit from Carlin's last show. Here, he explains the farce that is swearing on the Bible, and next he explains why none of us really have any 'rights', calling them 'temporary privileges' instead.

1. I got a Carlin DVD last Christmas.

I was excited, until I realized it was from '94 or something like that. And yes, it did end up being pretty dated material, most of it at least which was unfortunate.

Well worth it if you are a Carlin fan. There is so much truth in comedy.

5. I learned more from Carlin than from any teacher, journalist or politician...

I think this last bit of his is an amazing way to go. His last show, and this is the final act. He saved his most important eye-opener for his last act.

What he says about rights; it's so true. Military Commissions Act, anyone? Arrest you, imprison you, deny you a lawyer and a trial. Lock you up indefinitely. Why? Because the President can. And it's legal now. It's a law. He can do it. And yet we still call it a democracy. And nobody protested it. Everybody just let it happen.

So far for your rights...

George was so right, it's terryfying....
