Apparently, he didn't like being asked about his vote on the Franken Amendment.

The reporter is going to ask for an apology and if he doesn't get one, will press charges.

Alright, well, it isn't an epic smackdown of MMA proportions, or anything even close, but... it was illegal and if I had done it to him, I would have been forcibly sprawled upon the floor with guns trained on me, handcuffed and arrested. And I'd probably end up going to jail.

This week, over at TheCrookedDope.com, I've been interviewing every Republican Senator I can find that voted "nay" on Al Franken's anti-rape amendment. For the most part, the conversations have been exactly what I expected - Rachel Maddowish exchanges in which I speak the truth and Senators Thune, Burr, and Cochran do their best to obfuscate. Today, things were different. Senator Cornyn didn't like being filmed and must have believed that he was above the law. (video at link) He attempted to slap the camera out of my hand and then, when that was unsuccessful, made a second attempt, only this time he tried to seize the camera.

Both "touches" were clearly unwanted and illegal.

The video is confusing without the context. He was doing interviews which apparently he was allowed to do since security let him in right?

As for the 'interviewer' being polite, he asked a direct question to a public servant WHILE SAID SERVANT WAS AT WORK! This guy works for us, he got grabby with the interviewer 1st and the guy wasn't stopping him while asking him a question in the hallway. Hell, I've seen worse from non-indie reporters talking to Obama, who as Prez, earned the deference as a matter of protocol!

I have 20/20 vision also and saw that he was approached with request to answer a question and he blew up, attacked the camera and refused to answer a perfectly legitimate question about a vote he cast.

Too bad if he's upset. It's part of the job and if he doesn't like it, then let him step down.

Mike Stark is doing the job the MSM will not do. Cornyn and his buddies got too used to the MSM more concerned about not being on the outside, than about informing the public.

As for your attack on CoffeeCat, do you have a special interest in defending these Republican creeps who are taking up space in Congress, or are you one of those Dems who are scared of what the rightwingnuts might think of us so it's better to let them get away with destroying the country? Nothing I can see or have heard of protects a Senator from assault. Cornyn should have been charged, booked and taken to jail to face charges of assault in front of a judge.

how a question may be asked could be an assault...however, the red paper placed on the camera and the camera physically removed could be seen as battery, dependent upon the local jurisdiction.
