To this. This shows a division in the right. It's obvious there's paranoia at work, and sadly, many conspiracy-theory folks have that driving them. But one must note the concern over Blackwater. I have to respect that much of it. No, I don't think they're surrounding anything at this point. But at least he's rallying AGAINST that private-for profit, right wing murderous group. They are an effective tool in debate with the far right. I tell folks to stop worrying about the government coming 'knocking on their doors'. If anyone will knock on their doors it will be Blackwater. The proud 2nd Amendment folks will be out-armed, and guess what, suddenly the first responders, US military, ie. that once 'evil big brother government' will be their best friends and the only antidote.

This isn't unfounded and is very left-of-center. Mike Papantonio already expressed similar concern on his radio show of Blackwater becoming a 'permanent right wing / GOP army'. Think about it. Regardless of who is commander-in-chief, especially if it is a Democratic prez. This is a growing group that is firmly right of center and not working for the Dems, regardless of who is prez. My point in all of this is it's not as hard to win this dude over to the left and more liberal viewpoint. He gets at least some of it. The anti-public, privatize everything folks on the right are likely not going to be pleased with that aspect of his rant. What I learned in my time researching the conspiracy theory boards and sites is how much most true progressives DO get it.

When Kucinich talks about banks, insurers, and the corporations, moving wealth 'up the pyramid', he shows he gets it. The conspiracy theory folks believe in the whole 'pyramid' thing. What Dennis alludes to, is what Thom Hartmann made clear when he was interviewed by the most visible of all conspiracy theorists, Alex Jones. Is there an elite plot at work? Yes, but it's not just hidden. It's mostly visible. When Trillions are handed to banks, while the GOP battles against a few billion going to the unemployed. When we had a trillion a year to the military, but can't trust one tenth of that going to help give folks health care. It's clear, as studies have shown, there is a trillion a year going from the bottom 99% to the top 1%. 3/4 of the 'growth' of the Bush years went to the top 1%.

The other 25% (the crumbs) were battled over by the remaining 300 million plus in the bottom 99%. This system will reduce America to a 3rd world country, be it in a decade or generation. We need to let these folks know it's real and it's happening and it's visible. Get them OUT of the Tea Parties (and a distinction should be made between the Tea Party folks and Conspiracy Theory folks, the Tea folks are purely manipulated, the CS folks don't want to be, but some just don't get who's really doing it). Show them that they mean well to 'defend the Constitution'. But letting corporations run America, buying elections as the SCOTUS will allow them to do, paying off and almost bribing politicians with lobbyists galore, is hardly what "Jefferson", who they love to refer to, had in mind.

I saw this when I saw a well-meaning but misguided friend on the far right defend the SCOTUS decision. Typical rallying against 'tyranny'. In year that ruling was handed down, insurance was further privatized, and the only gun-law that this administration passed was one LIBERATING ownership (allowing them to be carried in national parks). The question is, what are they rallying against? The signs are that the anti gun government takeover just isn't happening. But they continue to fear it as if it is. We need to wake these people up. But we are out funded by that corporate elite. They can outspend us, and their marketing gets better with time. But it will take a grass-roots, coffee-party type movement to do it. We can't just write these folks off, they should learn what's going on.

It's really very sad. Which isn't to say that these people are harmless but the assholes, the professional liars, the Becks, Hannity's and Limbaughs who have been cranking them into this panicked state since literally the minute President Obama was sworn in have not been held accountable for the part they have played in all this.
