For one thing, bin Laden is supposed to what - 6'6"? Are we saying Zbigniew Brzezinski is also that tall? And anyway, the man's face is not the same as bin Laden's. And I don't what bonehead at the BBC bought this story but, this isn't bin Laden either:

No, I think that one IS Osama, and it's not a man but a boy - he's supposed to be 15 or younger in the pic, with two brothers and friends, in Oxford.

Whereas the one of the grizzled guy with Brzezinski is obviously not Osama. Doesn't look like him (except by the racist "they all look alike" standard). And duh, what's that uniform he's got on? The official uniform of the irregular Arab mujahedeen internationals?

I first saw this false claim years ago.

B. started the Afghan operation in advance of the Soviet invasion. OBL later participated in the op. During the op, B. had his picture taken with - some guy in Pakistan. After 9/11, someone who should know better decides to make propaganda out of the only pic available, by saying it's B. with O.

I'm totally with you on that Brzezinski/soldier pic. I suppose you're right. I guess a fellow can grow a bunch after age fifteen. I don't know who to trust anymore. :(

He was a 27-year-old Saudi. Tim Osman (Ossman) has recently become better known as Osama Bin Laden. "Tim Osman" was the name assigned to him by the CIA for his tour of the U.S. and U.S. military bases, in search of political support and armaments.

Gunderson and Riconosciuto were not on an altruistic mission. They had some conditions for their help. And they had some bad news to deliver. The mujahadeen needed to be willing to test new weapons in the field and to return a research report, complete with photos.
