Al Gore: Tennessean of the Year
By ANNE PAINE
Staff Writer

'07 accolades spotlight world-altering vision

"It's been an interesting year."

The understatement last week came from a man accused by his raucous critics of everything but understatement.

Al Gore, seated on the side porch of his Nashville home, couldn't be challenged on this one.

This year, the documentary An Inconvenient Truth, focusing on his efforts to educate people about global warming, won an Oscar. His television network, Current TV, picked up an Emmy.

He and an international panel of scientists shared the Nobel Peace Prize for alerting the world to the dangers posed by pollution-driven climate change.

And, one of his daughters got married.

10. And in Tennessee, the vote counts are MOST suspect.
The greatest discrepency between exit polls and "reported" vote in 2006 was in the TN Senatorial race (Corker v. Ford). Corker was the ONLY Rethug to win an open seat that year.

Tennessee refused to provie a breakdown of that 2006 race to the EAC, providing only the final "reported" vote total.

Our State Election Coordinator is the only state election official on the Board of Directors of the Election Center (created by, and in the service of, DRE draculas).

We are rapidly isolating ourselves (in terms of election integrity) from the rest of the country.

Al Gore would win Tennessee handily in 2008 if the votes were counted as cast and he decided to run. At this point, neither seems likely.
