Biden sees an opening in Iowa

WAVERLY, Iowa -- Sen. Joe Biden had just finished discussing his plan for ending the war in Iraq and confronting the crisis in Pakistan when a listener asked how he would overcome a different challenge: the media's focus on the presidential front-runners.

"I promise you," he told the crowd of about 100 at the Waverly Civic Center on Friday, "if you give me a ticket out of Iowa, the press will cover me as much as they cover the others."


I really hope he gets the ticket out of Iowa.

It really bugs me that the candidates with the most experience and knowledge are sitting in the "second-tier".

8. I'd really like to see Edwards, Biden and Dodd come out of Iowa.

Could you imagine a race between them? Experience, leadership and progressive ideals - that's what this party is supposed to be about. It would be so nice to hear actual policy discussions instead of whether someone wanted to be president in grade school or whether someone else is to blame for an assassination. In general, just less political calculation and more substance. All three of these candidates would provide that.
