There is no excuse now NOT to investigate Cheney, and if the Democrats don't
then they are effectively saying it is alright to out a covert CIA agent

The Vice President's chief of staff has been convicted, and there is no way he did not have knowledge and authorize the activities of Libby

We can rant and rave whether Libby will or will NOT be pardoned, but that is no longer the issue. The issue now sits directly in the House of Representatives court, and if they don't investigate the Vice President, and impeach him if evidence shows direct complicity, then they are no better than the republicans

I will wait and watch, but I won't hold my breath. We didn't get to where we are today because the Democrats were profiles in courage. In fact this has nothing to do with courage, this is doing their job.

1. Go ahead, tell me how the plane crash in Indonesia is the Democrats' fault.
Or Chicago's loosing the Super Bowl, or your smelly feet, or anything god damn thing and every god damn thing.

Geeze. There are boards for people who hate Democrats, you know.

2. This is about treason, and the survival of the republic, not a political party

4. You don't like what the Republicans did to Plame and Wilson?
Could have fooled me. You are helping them by attacking the Democrats. You don't like hearing that? Then hit the ignore button. Or fight the real evil and quite doing the Republicans' dirty work.

6. All the House has to do is investigate the VP. They now have a conviction, and probable cause
This is not about party, this is about country

9. My complaint with you is not in your calling for an investigation.
My complaint is in your phrasing it as an attack of Democrats. If it's not about party, don't make it about party.

11. The Democrats have the majority in the House, and thuse set the agenda
which hopefully would be an investigation. The republicans sure aren't going to initiate it

In addition, if evidence is found, all it takes is a simple majority for impeachment

What I am saying is that the Democrats are the ones who will allow this to happen or not because they have the majority in the House

7. I agree with the op myself
It's not attacking the dems if we hold our employees accountable - we hired them to fix things, and it starts at the top.

I voted a straight dem ticket for a reason, I wanted change. If the people I voted for aren't going to bring about that change - or at least show some effort to do so, then damn straight I will be a kicking their ass via emails and calls, bitching and blogging.

I won't be like the rw folks who follow king george around because of a letter he has after his name that shows he is a member of their pack. People either put up or shut up, and if they won't do the job than maybe they are not so different from those we are fighting against.

Patriotism is, to me, fighting for the ideals of this country - not backing someone who says they are while they suck the corporate tit and scratch the backs of others in government (kind of like cops - you look out for each other, and it seems some in congress do that for each other as well).

They at the very least need to investigate the last 6 years, while also introducing legislation to slow down the mess and reverse it's direction. Otherwise, what is the point?

10. I don't agree with his taking Libby's verdict as a reason to attack the Dems.
Yes, they should investigate if there is anything left to investigate. But he starts off by turning a victory for our side into an attack on the Dems ("There's no excuse yadayadayada"), and he ends with more snarky bullshit about what they haven't done in the past. No shit they haven't done much in the past, because jackass "liberals" convinced people in 2000 that the Dems were bad, and so people voted Nader, and we wound up with Bush and a complete Republican government. The Dems had no power to do anything, largely because of attitudes like that in the OP.

The evil is Bush. Fight that evil. You can call for investigations without bashing the whole party. I did.

5. My feelings exactly. This is about our country's survival
Hopefully, the House will do their job. If for nothing else than to send a message that our Constitution and Freedoms are NOT to be played with
