And - if he truly isn't going to run - Al Gore couldn't get a sweeter twist of the knife than to use his next speech to say something like:

"Earlier this week, the President suggested - as some might say - that there is 'no controlling legal authority' to compel Karl Rove to submit to the rule of law."

1. More to the point,

there is "no controlling legal authority" to keep Rove from testifying under oath if subpoened.

The DOJ folks removed it from "executive privilege" when they used the RNC webserver to send emails or to email to.
