...One final comment: Thanks to all of you who fasted and prayed about Proposition 22 in California, which defined marriage as being exclusively between one man and one woman. It passed 61 percent to 39 percent.4 We are very grateful that the Lord answered our prayers and that our friends in California went to the polls in huge numbers to defend the institution of marriage in our most populous state. We want to commend all those pastors who spoke out on this issue from the pulpit and encouraged their congregations to get out and vote. Commendation is also extended to the following individuals for their hard work and dedication to this effort:
* Mark Washburn, Executive Director, Capitol Resource Institute, Sacramento, CA
* Rob Stutzman, Chairman, Protection of Marriage Committee, Sacramento, CA
* Robert Glazier, Protection of Marriage Campaign Spokesman, Sacramento, CA
* Ed Atsinger, Salem Communications
* Randy Thomasson, Campaign for California Families, Sacramento, CA
* Pastor Larry DeWitt, Calvary Community Church, Westlake Village, CA
* Pastor Jack Hayford, Church on the Way, Van Nuys, CA
* Pastor Rick Warren, Saddleback Church, Mission Viejo, CA
* Pastor Rick Cole, Capitol Christian Center, Sacramento, CA
* Michael Bowman, Family Research Council, Washington D.C.
* Ned Dolejsi, Head of the California Catholic Conference
