CNNISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) --
A tanker truck returning to Pakistan after delivering fuel to NATO troops in Afghanistan was caught in the crossfire of a family feud in Pakistan on Friday and three people in the truck were killed, according to a local official. The incident, which happened in Pakistan's Khyber tribal district, involved fighting between two rival families, according to an official with the Khyber Agency political agent's office.
The fuel truck was not the target of the attack, but just happened into the fight, the official said.
In recent months, Taliban militants have targeted NATO's supply lines from Pakistan into Afghanistan.
Cargo terminals in Peshawar near the border with the Khyber Agency in the country's restive tribal areas were attacked several times last week, destroying NATO supplies bound for Afghanistan, Peshawar police said.
