For those who hate seeing tax increases...
Just increase the number of working Americans. More people would then be paying taxes back into the system, the debt can be addressed, et cetera.

Want small businesses? Give incentives to and make it easier for people to start them. Let stores sell products, but not services if we are a 'service oriented' economy.

1. That's what the tax cuts for rich people were supposed to do.
So far that hasn't worked out so well as far as I can tell.

2. .....and support their pay

by assessing the value of a 1969 CPI market basket and adjusting the minimum wage according to what those same items cost now.

Working people who make more money pay more taxes. People who make more money demand goods and services and increase employment.

People at the top who hoard money don't do much of anything useful.

Money only works when it's moving around. It's time to make sure it starts to move again.

4. My gripe isn't with income tax it is with real property tax
Property owners here are bearing the expense of funding the construction of a convention center, a sports stadium and major road repairs as well as education. Fuck that. I don't mind funding the schools. However everybody needs to be kicking in to fund the other projects. Some property owners here are seeing their property taxes multiply more than six times over just for the funding of the sports stadium. They get to see additional tax increases for the road repairs and for the convention center construction. I have come to believe rather strongly that only real property wners should be entitled to vote on propertuy tax increases.

Perhaps I can find some slum landlord willing to buy my place and take over the tax payments. I surely intend to moon the city limit sign on my final trip out of town. Property taxes are a great reason for urban flight. Seems our leaders are too dmn dumb to figure that one out however.
