McCain Says Palin Remains Strong Force in the GOP

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Sen. John McCain says Sarah Palin remains a formidable force in the Republican Party despite widespread criticisms of his 2008 running mate.

McCain says he still has great affection for the former Alaska governor.

One of McCain's top advisers from his presidential campaign has said Palin would be a catastrophe for the GOP if she's the party's presidential nominee in 2012.

McCain says tensions are to be expected among campaign officials during and after a tough election.

The Arizona senator says he's happy to have good Republicans eyeing the 2012 presidential race and says ''Sarah is one of them.''

McCain spoke on CNN's ''State of the Union.''

I think her Republican colleagues are going to field-dress ex-Governor Palin in the Iowa caucus debates in late fall of 2011.

Palin is the preferred candidate of the neocons because because she is not only stupid and ignorant, but is motivated solely by greed and ambition. She has no interest in actually governing. Therefore, they feel she could be manipulated into doing anything they want, no matter how much it harms our country. Kind of like GWB on steroids.

She is no longer an elected official. The only thing keeping her in the public eye is the soap story worthy life she and her family lead. Everyone is waiting to see what the clown (Palin) come up with next.

She is not a political force and never will be.
