2. LOL
Think it was St John's. Please note that I don't find church refreshing - just the walking home.

28. I don't care about what kind

of Forner the dog is. I just want to know what went on at Bo's birthday party. Why is this information being kept from us? No statement, no photos? Something's mighty fishy. The whole church thing is just a ploy to throw us off the scent.

11. Do you think every president the US has ever had was weak minded?
Edited on Sun Oct-11-09 10:26 AM by Incitatus
It wouldn't surprise me if some politicians were really atheists and just went to church for the image. However, most are such good liars it would be hard to tell who they are.

30. FAIL. Personal spiritual beliefs need not interfere with intellect.
Unfortunately, in many churches (particularly the fundie sort) spiritual beliefs are REQUIRED to interfere with intellect. UCC and Episcopal churches are very liberal and intellectual.

Heck, I go to church on occasion and am not convinced that "God" exists. Doesn't stop me from finding meaning and inspiration from the service. And it's a nice social occasion.

How did you get so woefully ignorant about church and religion? Were you born that way, or did it require special lessons?

21. With Bush in office and an attempt to hijack Christianity... I found myself going to church less
Being a UCC, it has been a little scary, since we have been targeted and murdered in our church during services because we are seen as a liberal congregation.

But I was just thinking last week, how I miss the fellowship with other members, and probably will start attending again.

Most likely at our local United Methodist, since we are in communion as congregations.

Nice to have a real man of faith back in office and not one whose advisers tried to use it as a political movement.

Though I did get a kick out of reading how the right is now going to rewrite the Bible.. (the same book they say is 100% truth and not allegory).. to write out the liberal passages.

You just cannot make that stuff up

34. Hopefully he prayed for the families of...
the 122 people that will die TODAY because they don't have health insurance.
Or the troops and innocents that will die TODAY needlessly in the Afganistan war.
Or the dozens of folks that will get evicted from their homes TODAY because banking regulations have not been put in place to keep banks from taking advantage of people.
