Scott Roeder, convicted of killing Kansas abortion provider Dr. George Tiller, denigrated his victim at his sentencing Thursday then lashed out at the judge who gave him life in prison without parole eligibility for 50 years.

13. He is 52. He will first become eligible for parole at age 102, but will have

to serve 2 consecutive sentences for assault - another 24 months. Plus, with the way the judge gave his verdict, I doube Roeder would ever actually be paroled - The judge found NO mitigating circumstances at all, many aggravating ones. He will never get out of prison, and personally, I hope he hates every minute of it.

20. Actually, psychopaths are not necessarily delusional - many are very

clear thinking, just lack any feelings of compassion, understanding or sympathy for others. Mr. Roeder had no real signs of mental illness - he just decided his views of the world were more important than everyone elses and that he was justified in doing whatever he thought would achieve his goals. He wanted to kill Dr. Tiller in the most terrible way possible, in front of family and friends, to make a political point, and he planned this for many years, and conducted several "test runs" beforehand, all by his own admission. He has NO remores or shame for what he did, and I really believe he expected to be given probation and time served and to have been hailed as a "christian" hero. I hope he hates every minute of his life from now on, but I do not think he will EVER think that he did anything wrong.
