along with the KFC thread here, I'm going to interject a real fascinating observation.
I keep Kosher for Passover which means that any soda which I drink has to be made with sugar rather than corn syrup, since that won't fly - no grains which ferment after 18 minutes in contact with water and all that. Anyway, once a year for a little over a week I drink Dr. Brown's Cherry or Cream (mmmm, good) and a remarkable occurrence reminiscent of the miracle of Chanukah has occurred.
I opened a can of Dr. Brown's Cream soda two nights ago and brought it up to bed, had a few sips and left it on the nightstand. I just brought it downstairs and for the heck of it, took a swig and there was plenty of carbonation left. I was SHOCKED! Try that with Coke or Pepsi and you'll taste flat, stale soda. Other than being warm, this was almost 'fine'. Weird.
Now, this thread is going to get moved unless I draw an analogy so here goes: President Obama is like Dr. Brown's soda: you can think that he's flat, that he's not going to be any good, and then...SURPRISE! he comes thru in a pinch. Or a sip.
There's my rationale for keeping this in GD, rather than moving it to the Lounge.
How'd I do?
