What if the Klan gave a rally and nobody came?

Almost happened today. One showed up. The rest got lost:


GLOVERVILLE -- A Ku Klux Klan rally in Gloverville today drew more spectators that Klan members.
Tim Bradley, grand dragon of South Carolina for the KKK, led a rally that included only himself and a crowd of onlookers. The rest of the Klan, about 30 members, got lost en route from North Carolina, he said.

After an hour, spectators started to leave, but not before a few verbal volleys were exchanged.
"You ain't nothing but a bunch of overgrown young 'uns," one female spectator cried as others signed up to be Klan members. "Trash, trash, trash."

However, Bradley had insisted the rally would be peaceful and stepped in when one man went too far. The man, who spewed curse words and shouted about white rights, was escorted away.

"We just want to let everyone know we aren't the hate group of the '50s and '60s," Bradley said. "We just want our rights, just like the NAACP wants theirs."

Bradley mainly wanted to discuss illegal immigration and health care reform.
The Aiken County Sheriff's Office had said no violence was anticipated, but deputies were ready just in case. They lined the perimeter of the fence at Gloverville Park, ready to step in if things got out of hand.

No robes were present, but Bradley explained robes would be worn later Saturday evening during an initiation at a private farm. He would not disclose the location.
