When the time comes, the GOP will dump them. Sarah Palin is their pre-emineent spokesperson, and people question whether or not she will run in '12. A lot of dems seem to think she won't, that she's too interested in money, but there is a possibility that the prestige of the Presidency may attact her.

In any case she's unelectable, and as much as we mock and make fun of the opposition (especially the teabaggers), GOP leaders are too smart to allow her to run. The GOP may use the teabaggers to fire up the base for the primaries, but after that, they're gone (though the GOP will continue to capitalize on teabagger memes on taxation, deficit spending/national debt, etc.).

Basically, the teabaggers will be co-opted into the GOP.
