LINDA WHITMAN, Quincy: Police cruisers no place for advertisements

In regard to the March 16 article about generating revenue for the city of Quincy (“Idea of ads on Quincy cop cars gets cool reception”), I find it totally ignorant for City Councilor John Keenan to suggest using police cruisers for advertisement.

The police officers of the Quincy Police Department should not be put in the same category as taxi drivers.

Might I suggest putting the advertisement on the DPW and parks department vehicles?

The original article the editorial refers to appears to no longer be available online.

2. Bail bonds?
Not many adverts I could imagine would work on a cruiser, but attorneys and bail bondsmen would be a natural.

Maybe the Whizzinator. Not sure how popular that would be, though.

It's all about the money anyway.

Now when the cop pulls someone over for expired tags, they can get the fine and maybe get the criminal to buy from their advertised site.

"Chico's Bail Bonds!"

If movies have taught me anything, they have taught me to use their quotes in the most sarcastic manner possible.
