This is a rank mendacity. Bad enough that Bush & Co. did these things. Worse, the precedent was set. Worst, no president is going to willingly surrender powers inherited from a prior administration. None has in the past, and none will in the future. This isn't necessarily specific to Obama; if it had been Clinton, Ron Paul or Bobo the Simpleminded who'd won in 2008, they wouldn't have dropped these powers, either.
