In fact, when I've been abroad, most tour books will advise you to leave your passport in the hotel's safe box because of risk of theft.

(I never do, because I'm used to carrying it around at all times - I don't drive, so it's my only official photo ID, so I show it to buy groceries with checks and get into nightclubs right here at home.)

Well, it's not like Arizona has any natural landmarks of note that people might want to come from all over to see, or depends a lot on tourist revenue or anything....oh wait. :blush:
