Phoenix (BP) 4/26/10: Early this morning, Governor Jan Brewer had a surprise. Her lawn care crew arrived for the usual weekly cleaning. Shortly thereafter, however, a police SWAT team showed up and arrested the entire crew, based on suspicions that they might be illegal aliens. Police spokesperson, Manuel Gonzalez, in a press conference later in the day, said, "The Governor's lawn crew is not immune to this new law. They looked like illegals, were dressed like illegals, so we arrested them. They all claim to be citizens, but none had their birth certificates. All have been deported to Mexico. If they're truly citizens, all they have to do is present their birth certificates and they can return."
District attorney, Juan Perez, seconded the police action. "We must enforce this law," he said, "without regard to employment status or any other factors. If people look and act like illegals, they will be arrested."
Governor Brewer also held a press conference, where she condemned the police action. "How can these people arrest my gardeners? Who's supposed to cut my grass? I'm sure those workers are perfectly legal. Some of them even speak some English. What am I supposed to do? Pay minimum wage for gardening?" ______________________ More at: www.wefracturethenewsforyou.com
